Welcome to the home page of the "Rock Music - Listening" study group.

This is not an interest group in the usual sense. We don't have any regular meetings. To start with the group will just be a mailing list to let its members know about any forthcoming events where they can hear and see The Rock Bottom Band when they play live public gigs. These are often arranged at short notice so having a ready-made mailing list will get word out quickly, and target people who have already declared an interest.

The group is led by Watford Park u3a but is joint and is available to members of all local u3as (subject to some communication and agreement between respective study group co-ordinators just to set things up).

How do I join?
Just email Dave Cadd and nominate yourself. In the email please provide :-

your name,    the u3a group you belong to (e.g. Watford Park, SW Herts),    your membership number.

What happens then?
Once your email details have been set up you will receive a confirmatory email. After that, emails will be issued only as and when there is something to communicate i.e. when The Rock Bottom Band has another confirmed public gig. 

There must be more to life!
Yes, other rock bands are available. In due course we may use this "study group" to organise member trips to see professional groups as and when they perform live in the locality. In fact the members of The Rock Bottom Band enjoy seeing good bands perform live. In the last year for instance we have been to see The Searchers at the Alban Arena, The Hollies at The Palladium and The Zoots at the Radlett Centre, to watch and learn.
