Future meetings planned

What does this study group do?

This group was set up and ready to hold its first meeting on 31st March 2020 before lock down made this impossible. During the Summer of 2020 tentative arrangements were made for a small, socially distanced garden meeting, but the weather changed and the meeting was cancelled. With help and encouragement from some of the members of the group our first meeting was finally held via Zoom on 10th November 2020, attended by 15 members.

From that point we met once a month on Zoom until finally we were able to meet face to face, outside in a garden, on 24 Jun 2021.

Each meeting we look for a volunteer member to step forward to choose the wine and to host the meeting. Currently all the wines are purchased in bulk by one person. Members then reimburse the purchaser.

The evening is a mix of conversation / banter and, of course, studious tasting and re-tasting of the selected wines. Education after all is the important thing! We also search out videos that we can watch together, perhaps about the particular wines we are tasting, or about the wine region they come from, or wine making methods or even about wine tasting tips and techniques.
